Abstract

Abstract.  This study was motivated by concerns about the declining awareness and meaning of prayer among junior high school students The study aims to examine students' understanding of the spiritual meaning of prayer, their spiritual experiences, the role of the environment, and the implications of this understanding on the practice of prayer in daily life. The study uses a quantitative design with a field study method, with primary data obtained through questionnaire responses from 134 respondents, while secondary data came from relevant literature. Data analysis used descriptive techniques. The findings indicate that students have a high level of understanding of the spiritual meaning of prayer (75.80%), very high spiritual experiences (86%), a very high role of the environment (82%), and the implications of this understanding on prayer practices in daily life (85%). This study emphasizes prayer practices, which was also in the very high category (85%). This research emphasizes the importance of strengthening the habit of prayer in shaping students' character, although this research is still limited to the perspective aspect and has not examined the implementation of practice directly.
