Peer Revew Proses

The PAPUA: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SHARIA BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (PIJSBM) follows a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the articles published. Below is an outline of the peer review process:

1. Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the PIJSBM online submission system. Each submission must comply with the journal’s guidelines and format requirements.

2. Initial Screening

Upon submission, the editorial team conducts an initial screening to check the manuscript for:

  • Adherence to submission guidelines
  • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Originality and plagiarism using plagiarism detection software

3. Assignment to Associate Editor

If the manuscript passes the initial screening, it is assigned to an Associate Editor who has expertise in the relevant field.

4. Selection of Reviewers

The Associate Editor selects at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the field. Reviewers are chosen based on their knowledge, expertise, and absence of any conflict of interest.

5. Peer Review

The selected reviewers conduct a double-blind peer review. This means that both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other throughout the review process. The reviewers assess the manuscript based on:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Contribution to the field
  • Methodological rigor
  • Clarity and coherence
  • Quality of data and analysis
  • Adherence to ethical standards

6. Reviewer Reports

Reviewers submit their reports with recommendations, which may be:

  • Accept without revisions
  • Minor revisions required
  • Major revisions required
  • Reject

7. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ reports and recommendations, the Associate Editor makes a preliminary decision, which is then reviewed and confirmed by the Editor-in-Chief. The possible decisions include:

  • Acceptance
  • Revision (major or minor)
  • Rejection

8. Communication with Authors

Authors receive the decision along with the reviewers’ comments. If revisions are required, authors are given a specified period to address the comments and resubmit the revised manuscript.

9. Revision and Resubmission

Authors revise their manuscripts based on the feedback and resubmit. The revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers or new reviewers for further assessment.

10. Final Decision

After the reviewers’ reassessment of the revised manuscript, the Associate Editor makes a final recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief, who then makes the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection.

11. Copyediting and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting to ensure clarity, readability, and conformity to the journal’s style. Authors may be asked to approve final edits before publication.

12. Publication

Once the final version is approved, the manuscript is scheduled for publication in the next available issue. The article is then published online with a DOI and is accessible to the journal’s readership.

13. Post-Publication

Published articles may be subjected to post-publication review and comments by readers. Authors may be invited to respond to such comments.
