Teacher professionalism influences the teaching and learning process of students. The implementation of the “Merdeka Belajar” curriculum requires teachers to possess competencies in technological development. However, current conditions show that many teachers are still unable to develop, innovate, or adapt to technological advancements, causing many students to become reluctant to participate in the learning process. This study aims to examine whether there is an influence of teacher professionalism and the use of learning media on the learning interest of eighth-grade students at MTs Al-Munawwaroh Merauke.This research employed a quantitative approach. The research subjects were eighth-grade students of MTs Al-Munawwaroh Merauke. Data collection techniques included questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques used correlation tests and hypothesis testing. The calculations were conducted using SPSS version 23 with the Product Moment correlation formula.The results of the study indicate that there is an influence of teacher professionalism and the use of learning media on the learning interest of eighth-grade students at MTs Al-Munawwaroh Merauke, with the t-value for teacher professionalism being (5.330) > t-table (2.021). The correlation calculation showed a relationship value between (0.60–0.799), which indicates a strong correlation. Meanwhile, the t-value for the use of learning media was (2.490) > t-table (2.021). Based on Sugiyono’s interpretation of the correlation coefficient (0.20–0.399), the correlation is categorized as low. The influence of teacher professionalism and the use of learning media on students’ learning interest was found to be 44.4%.As teachers in the era of the 4.0 millennial generation, educators are required to be creative and innovative in the learning process, especially in the use of information technology-based learning media, so that teaching is no longer carried out using monotonous methods alone.
