This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of delaying inheritance distribution among the Wakatobi community living in Asmat Regency. The analysis is used to determine the legal basis that the Wakatobi community in Asmat Regency uses for distributing their inheritance. It also aims to describe the factors that cause delays in inheritance distribution. With a qualitative case study approach, this research will eventually yield results based on facts collected from the field through interviews, observations, and documentation.. The findings of this study are first, the procedure or process of distributing inheritance carried out by the Wakatobi community in Asmat Regency based on customary rules and Islamic Law. Where the customary rules that are emphasized are the deliberative agreement between all heirs. The second finding, namely the factor that caused the delay in the distribution of the inheritance of the Wakatobi Community in Asmat Regency was the traditional ceremony of commemorating the old death day so that it had an impact on the length of the division process, the resolution of problems that caused legal disputes first, and the presence of family members who were still out of town or sick.
