<p><em>This study explores students’ responses to Anton Chekhov’s </em>The Bet<em> through the lens of Richard Beach’s transactional theory, with a focus on their engagement with the story’s central moral conflict. Employing a descriptive qualitative research design, the study examines how students navigate the contradiction between life imprisonment and the death penalty by analyzing data from students’ intellectual diaries, classroom discussions, and interviews. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns in students’ emotional, ethical, and cognitive responses. Findings reveal that students engage with the text in diverse ways, including emotional reactions, ethical reflections, and collaborative meaning-making. The study underscores the influence of personal experiences, values, and peer interactions on literary interpretation, highlighting the pedagogical significance of fostering critical engagement with morally complex narratives in higher education. </em><em>This study also highlights the importance of selecting literature that challenges students with complex moral issues, as their emotional and ethical engagement with texts like </em>The Bet<em> fosters their critical thinking, self-reflection, and personal growth.</em></p>Muhammad HasbiFitriyani BakriAbd Halim

<p>Keseimbangan unsur <em>basyariah</em> sebagai dimensi material dan unsur <em>ruhiyah </em>sebagai dimensi spiritual merupakan sumber dari kebahagiaan dan kesengsaraan manusia,. Kurangnya Pemahaman terhadapnya membuat peran Konseling Pendidikan tidak dijalankan secara seimbang Akibatnya pelaksanaannya dijalankan secara parsial pula, di mana ia hanya menitik beratkan pada salah satu unsur, terutama unsur ruhiyah semata, yang pada akhirnya membuat sasaran Konseling tidak dapat dicapai.. Oleh karenanya diperlukan pemahaman yang komprehenshif dalam memandang keduanya. Untuk menggali lebih jauh tentangnya, maka dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode <em>library research </em>(penelitian pustaka). Di mana peneliti melakukan penelusuran terhadap berbagai literatur-literatur berupa buku-buku, hasil penelitian, serta jurnal-jurnal, baik nasional maupun internasional. Untuk selanjutnya dilakukan pemaknaan antar berbagai data tersebut dalam rangka untuk menemukan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan kajian yang telah dilakukan di atas maka didapatkan beberapa temuam di antaranya: <em>Pertama, </em>.hakikat konsep <em>basyariah </em>manusia menunjukkan bahwa ia tersusun dari unsur-unsur material, seperti makan minum, seks dan lain sebagainya. Hal ini berimplikasi pada peran Konselor untuk membantu Konseli/Klien untuk menganalisis problem materialnya agar Konseli mampu menerima persoalan, serta mampu memecahkan masalahnya sehingga ia dapat menyembuhkan penyakit mentalnya dan kembali menjalani hidup yang sehat. <em>Kedua,</em> unsur <em>ruhiyah </em>merupakan unsur yang tersusun dari ruh Allah SWT, Ia menganugerahkan pada manusia unsur <em>nafs, ruh, qalb, </em>dan <em>fithrah</em> sebagai dimensi spiritual jiwa manusia, unsur-unsur tersebut memerlukan arahan dari Konseling Pendidikan Islami agar senantiasa ia tetap berkembang dan tetap berada pada porsinya masing-masing, karenanya diperlukan peran Konseling untuk mengarahkan Konseli/Klien untuk memecahkan masalah konseli dengan cara menyerahkan diri kepada Allah SWT sebagai sumber kedamaian.</p>Hadini HadiniM. <p>This study was conducted to assist teachers in instilling moral values in early childhood through traditional games. By using a research and development approach using the four D model, the research subjects consisted of fifteen teachers at TK Negeri Pembina North Palu to describe the development of Didi Lauro traditional games to instill moral values of early childhood in Palu City, describe the development design of Didi Lauro traditional games to instill moral values of early childhood in Palu City, and describe the level of practicality and effectiveness of Didi Lauro traditional games to instill moral values of early childhood in Palu City. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative by describing the findings qualitatively and quantitatively. An overview of the level of need for the development of traditional Didi lauro games to instill moral values for early childhood in Palu City, in four aspects; (1) curriculum, (2) modules, (3) props, and (4) instruments. The level of need for the curriculum is 66.6%. module 60%, props 53.3%, and instruments 73.3%. The development design includes the design of game patterns, terms, and songs that are sung according to teacher responses reaching 80%, the validity of the practicality of the game reaches 80% on the indicators (a) easy to understand, (b) fun, (c) entertaining, and (d) right on target. The validity of the effectiveness of the game is 73.3% indicating (a) fast in achieving the target, (b) short in the use of time, and (c) clarity of the results found. <p>Vocabulary acquisition is a fundamental aspect of mastering a foreign language, particularly for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. However, many students face significant challenges in building their vocabulary, which hinders their ability to communicate effectively. Traditional teaching methods, such as L1 translation, memorization, and contextual guessing, are often inadequate, especially for beginners, as they fail to sustain long-term retention and engagement. This paper explores the limitations of these approaches and proposes the integration of games as an effective solution for vocabulary teaching. Games provide an engaging, interactive, and student-centered learning environment that fosters intrinsic motivation, encourages communication in real-life contexts, and reduces learner anxiety. The study highlights the benefits of using games to address the challenges in vocabulary acquisition, emphasizing their potential to create memorable learning experiences, enhance student participation, and promote sustained language development. By analyzing existing literature and the researchers’ teaching experience, this paper underscores the importance of innovative strategies to motivate EFL learners and improve their vocabulary acquisition.</p>Auliyanti S.
